CALL FOR COMMUNITY READERS/PERFORMERS
In honor of the 50th anniversary of the Broadway debut of Ntozake Shange’s for colored girls who have considered suicide / when the rainbow is enuf in 1976, Griot will host a staged community reading of the iconic choreopoem in summer 2026.
We’re seeking readers/performers from our community to lend their voices to the seven Black women at the heart of this groundbreaking work. No acting experience necessary. The reading will be rehearsed and presented as a shared community offering.
