Capturing the brutal, tender and dramatic lives of contemporary Black women, for colored girls who have considered suicide/when the rainbow is enuf a groundbreaking "choreopoem" by Ntozake Shange is a spellbinding collection of vivid prose and free verse narratives about and performed by Black women.
Please join us at the Rochester Repertory Theatre for a staged reading of for colored girls... in honor of the 50th anniversary of its Broadway debut in 1976.
A staged reading is minimally produced and actors will have their scripts on set reading directly from the pages. Please note that due to the mature content of the work, this event is not suitable for youth or young children.
